An example of an application that DEC has developed is the Maryland State Highway Administration Data Viewer. The Data Viewer is a custom-made software that allows a wide range of users to maintain and improve a statewide road network. The queries are organized for different user groups and tasks. It ranges from structures to accident locations and parcel queries. The data viewer has report functionality and interacts with a property management program. As a result of this project, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials awarded DEC for being an "exemplary partner for quality team achievement".
