SalesTRACK is a sales analysis and performance measuring
tools designed for distribution through industry trade organizations. The software
enables organizations such as the Ski Industries of America to distribute national sales
figures to their members in a dynamic setting where individual members can use the data to
perform analysis, territory alignment and comparative studies. 
SalesTRACK is customized for each industry with
specific databases and user documentation. The software is also licensed on a one
time charge to the industry association. The industry association can then
distribute the software to its members at no additional cost.
The software is setup initially by inputting
industry specific national sales figures for each state. (e.g. Sales of Golf
equipment by state) This information would be provided to Digital Engineering Corporation
(DEC) by the trade organization. Once entered, the software is then ready for
distribution.
To use the software, sales territories are
first identified to the system by naming them (e.g. North East, South West etc.) then
clicking the states to be included in the territory. Next, the user would enter
their companies sales figures by state. Once completed, the user can then analyze
their companies sales performance by state as compared to industry averages. Such
analysis provides users with an easy to understand feedback on the success of their sales
effort and the potential need for redirection.
Sales Track provides the following
key features.
Simplified interface. The
software is designed to be highly intuitive for use by individuals not familiar with
mapping analysis software.
Easy to use map navigation tools.
The software includes both scroll bars and zoom in/out and pan buttons. As a result,
users can quickly Zoom to the portion of the map they are interested in viewing.
Map Tip Function. The
Map Tip function dynamically displays selected information on the map as the mouse is
moved. The user selects the data to be displayed as Map Tips. For example, if
the City_Name field in the City data layer is chosen, then as the user moves the mouse
over a city, the city name will be automatically displayed.
Excel Compatibility.
SalesTRACK contains an Excel compatible spread sheet. The results of the territory
alignment and sales analysis can therefore, be easily imported into Microsoft Excel.
Charting Tool. SalesTRACK
contains a comprehensive set of charting tools. The charting tools enable the
creation and customization of over 50 chart types including: 2D and 3D bar charts, Pie
charts etc. Charts can be included in output maps or be exported for inclusion in
office automation products such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect.
Map Making Tool. SalesTRACK
includes a simple to use map tool. The map tool can be used to create hard copy
output of the map as displayed on the screen. The map can also include an chart
created by the charting tool.
Report Tool. Alternatively
users can produce a report outlining sales figures by State and territory. The
report can be previewed, printed or exported to one of over 20 file formats including
Excel, Word, WordPerfect and HTML for publishing on the Internet.
