Redistricting Services
| DEC has
extensive experience providing support to counties, states and schools during the
redistricting and reprecincting processes. DEC's redistricting product has been used in
over 35 states, as well as many counties, planning commissions and school districts. Given the complexities and the political nature of any redistricting process, and in order to provide clients with optimum support during the data development and implementation phases of redistricting/reprecincting projects, DEC has developed a formalized project management process. The key goals of the project management procedures are to: 1) Keep the project schedule, 2) Keep the client informed, 3) Assign appropriate resources. DEC has worked with numerous organizations during their redistricting process. From providing software support to Turn-key redistricting services, DEC personnel have performed redistricting support services throughout North America. DEC's Turn-Key services have included onsite support, plan development, expert witness support, public meetings and citizen involvement. DEC is also the developer of PrecinctPro, the only software available designed specifically for the display, analysis, and management of precinct boundary and demographic information. PrecinctPro's open architecture allows the use and analysis of all US census data as well as local election result and political affiliation data. The increased flexibility and efficiency provided by this software will greatly facilitate the Database Development phase of the project, as well as the entire reprecincting effort.
