Support for Census Bureau's Phase 2 VTD:
Digital Engineering Corporation (DEC) Provides services designed to assist states performing the Phase 2 redistricting project. The following is an outline of some of the services offered by DEC.
- Tiger Translation. Although autoBound includes a Tiger Translator, at the request of the state, DEC can provide already converted Tiger databases needed for the phase 2 redistricting project.
- Hardware/Software/Data Bundle. DEC can provide Phase 2 "Turn Key" solutions which include full hardware/software/data bundles. The turn key systems are delivered on a DELL +450MHz platform configured with ArcView, autoBound and phase2 Tiger files in ArcView Shape format.
- GIS Support. In many cases, the VTD information is delivered to the state in digital format from County GIS departments. DEC can provide support for the conversion and import of these data sets. The support includes translation of the data if needed, geographic project of the data and quality control when necessary.
- General Onsite Support. DEC can provide onsite/off site support to states which may not have in-house personnel to complete the Phase 2 project.
