Dynamic Internet Map
Server (Preview)
Digital Engineering Corporation is in the process of releasing MapTP for
ARCGIS. This technology provides direct connectivity between the MapTP Vector
Streaming technology and ESRI's ARCGIS Product.
It should also be noted that the MapTP
server is highly efficient and able to support hundreds of simultaneous users with a
minimal configuration. To demonstrate this capability, the computer selected for
this demonstration is a 9 year old computer system with the following specifications:
System Speed: 400Mhz.
System Memory: 256Mb.
Disk Space: 20Gb.
Operating System: Linux 9.0 (Server is also available for MS Windows)
System Manufacture Date: 1995
Please Note: To run the
demos, you will need JAVA 1 installed and enabled on your computer. JAVA 1 is by
default, automatically installed with your Internet Browser. If you are unable to
view the demonstration, please make sure that JAVA is enabled in your browser's security
settings.
DEMO 1: (Emergency Broadcasting)
The preview database is for the city of Seattle, Washington. To try
out the server:
- Click the link below
- Once the Map appears, move the mouse into the
map and using the left mouse button drag a zoom box.
- Alternatively, use the +
button in the menu.
This demo also includes the ability for
posting of additional display features for broadcast to all users viewing the map.
To try this feature, open the map then contact DEC at (410) 295-3333 and ask to see a
demonstration of the E-MAPS broadcasting capability.

DEMO 2: (Redistricting Over the Web)
The preview database is for the State of Pennsylvania. To try out
the server:
- Click the link below
- Once the Map appears, move the mouse into the
map and using the left mouse button drag a zoom box.
- Alternatively, use the +
button in the menu.
- Use the ON button to toggle thematic mapping
- Use the Area Selection Button and select
blocks to draw districts.
Please note you must be zoomed in far
enough to have the local streets visible.
This demo also includes the ability for
posting of additional display features for broadcast to all users viewing the map.

DEMO 3: (Critical Facility Data Access System)
The database for this demo is
world-wide roads, places and boundaries file. The demo automatically zooms to the
Annapolis, Maryland area where Citygate GIS Inc's offices are located. Additional
instructions are provided at the top of the demo page.

DEMO 4: (PDA to Server Posting and Public Broadcasting)
The database for this demo is
North America. To view this demo, you must coordinate the use of a PDA client tool
with Citygate GIS Inc. During this demo, lines are drawn on the PDA device and posted onto
the server then broadcasted to the selected desktop systems.
To try out the server:
- Click the link below
- Once the map appears, draw a line on the
Client PDA device
- Post the line to the server and view it on
the desktop client
