Use as a simple redistricting and mapping software...
Maptician2 - Redistricting and Mapping Software

Maptician2 is simple to use software that can view and query spatial data. It is designed to work with Arcview shapefiles.  Maptician2 can display data in a variety of formats including map views, in spreadsheet format, or as graphs. dBase files can be imported and exported using Maptician2. It can also produce formatted output of maps or data. Maptician2 can be used as a data mining tool for analyzing and interrogating spatial data.

Maptician2 can be used in conjunction with autoBound software to view and make simple edits to redistricting plans. Refer to the section autoBound4 Data and Plan Setup for instructions for accessing and using autoBound data within Maptician2.

Redistricting with Maptician2

Direct Compatibility with autoBound

Maptician2 can open autoBound workspaces for editing without the need for translation. This feature allows administrative users to view and adjust plans without the need for import and export of data. It should be noted that autoBound's security features provide the ability to restrict Maptician2 users to view-only functionality.

Free Unlimited Licenses when used with autoBound

Unlimited licenses of Maptician2 Viewing Software are offered with each purchase of autoBound. The serial number for Maptician2 is associated with the autoBound serial number. In other words, Maptician2 licenses installed under the license agreement for a given contract will only read autoBound plans associated with that purchase agreement. Maptician2 may be installed in state libraries or other state and local offices in order to offer the public the opportunity to participate in the redistricting process.

Public Access to Redistricting

Maptician2 may be installed in state libraries or other state and local offices in order to offer the public the opportunity to participate in the redistricting process. An agency may also post Maptician2 on its Website with available autoBound plans to review.

Automated Redistricting

Maptician2 provides automated tools which will enable rapid creation of boundaries based on defined parameters such as capacity or desired population.  The automated tool can be used to generate an entire plan or be limited to a user defined area.
