Maptician is a comprehensive GIS application
designed to provide ease of use for the novice user and sophisticated functionality for
the experienced operator. The software was designed using ESRI's MapObjects 2.1 COM
technology. As such, Maptician supports native compatibility with ESRI's Shape and
Coverage formats. Additionally, Maptician supports numerous CAD, Military and Image
formats.

The document manager allows the user to
switch between the various documents in the project.

Sophisticated Analysis Functions. There are 17 Analysis Wizards built in to
Maptician. These include overlay operations such as Union, Intersect and Clip,
business analysis functions such as Buffer, Nearest, Spider lines and Market Area and
statistical functions such as weighted mean, linear regression and correlation analysis.
For each Analysis function, the software provides a series of Wizards designed to
guide the user through the required task.
- Street Address Matching and
Routing. Maptician includes a comprehensive address matching tool with
multiple address type options such as Standard US Addresses with Zip codes, Addresses
without Zip codes, Single Address Range with zones etc. After the address matching
process, the user can review the results of the process and make manual adjustments where
necessary. Additionally, using the address points, the software can automatically
generate optimized routes between locations. The software will provide a list of all
turns and distances.
- Comprehensive Map display and
Thematic analysis tools. Maptician includes options for display of maps in
multiple thematic options including: Single Color, Group by Value, Graduated Color, Dot
Density and Pie and Bar chart maps. Each Thematic option allows the user to change,
point, line, Polygon or outline color and line/fill property. Using this option, the
user can create a variety of maps to graphically display particular database attributes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting tools.
Maptician provides extensive data editing and reporting tools. Data Editing
includes the ability to modify table structures, calculate columns, summarize totals and
generate statistics. The software also provides the ability to generate unformatted
quick reports or user customized formatted reports. Maptician uses the Crystal
Reports (tm) reporting engine.
- Excel (tm) compatible built-in
Spreadsheet. At times, data analysis requires the use of spreadsheet
functions. Maptician includes a fully functional Excel compatible
spreadsheet. Users can import worksheets and formulas from existing spreadsheets or
create new spreadsheets using over 120 Arithmetic, Trigonometric and statistical
functions.
- Powerful charting.
Maptician's Charting document allows the user to create dozens of chart types including:
2D and 3D Bar, Line, Pie, Scatter, Polar and Surface Charts. Charts can be created
from data in Spreadsheets or from data tables.
- Advanced Map Layout Tools.
Maptician provides sophisticated map layout tools which enable the user to create
professional looking maps with little effort. The layout tool includes a large
number of predefined Map Clip-arts and a variety of north arrow and map border styles
