E-MAPS
Alternate Evacuation Routes (Escape Route
Modeling)E-MAPS provides the ability
to rapidly create alternate evacuation routes during an emergency event which impacts the
availability of the existing evacuation routes.
In the following example, the area on the left represents
the impact zone of an incident. The impact zone affects a section of an Interstate
and a portion of a state evacuation route.

The graphic on the right displays a new set of alternate
evacuation routes created (shown with red arrows). The new routes allow the
evacuation of the area considering the unavailability of the road network inside the
impact zone.
You can review a video clip of E-MAPS's evacuation
routing capability by clicking the following link. (Requires Flash 6
and a high speed Internet connection)
Please note: In
order to make the clips viewable over the internet, the resolution and number of available
colors was restricted.
